Having issued the 50 Day challenge earlier today, I got to thinking about bodies and body image, unrealistic expectations, photoshopped models, anorexia, and so on.  This song came to mind ~ it represents where i am, for the most part…

But then i am a person who didn’t know what “spanks” were in any context other than ~ well, you know ~ getting spanked!!  Apparently, you can encase pretty much your entire body in some spandex creation that will ~ well, i guess it kind of shrink-wraps you, right?

i would rather sing “All the Wrinkled Ladies” than actually wear Spanx, and am hoping that by summer, i won’t exactly need to be compressed.  i may not be skinny, slender, svelte  at my target weight by then, but i will at least have firm fat.

We are studying eating disorders this week and America seems to be patient zero. We set women up with such cruelty. You are beauitful. Every inch. Exactly how you are. Leave the spanks for Da Man. 🙂

(i refuse to wear spanks on the grounds that to me, it feels like false advertising and anti-feminist)

Healthy is important and i think that matters to you much more than anything else. To that, i wish you great success.

      Hey, Jade,

i sooo agree with you. As for spanks – you know, i’m old enough to remember panty girdles, a device of torture, and you couldn’t pay me to put on anything that reminds me of that. It is anti-feminist and false advertising too! Of course, i feel the same way about padded bras. 🙂

Yes, feeling good is what matters, and i think exercise does that. It’s just easier to feel inspired in the spring.

And thanks for the kind words. 🙂

      Hey, Sin,

Yeah, me too. To some extent anyhow. But now i’m almost on the way to muscles in my arms – how cool is that?
